For most of my life I have been enthralled with the beauty of words and letters created in ink on paper. Following my professional career as a Cartographer I took up my Calligraphy studies with a new level of commitment and completed the RMIT Certificate in 2012. Since joining the Calligraphy Society of Victoria around that time I have continued with private tuition and have attended workshops with many well-respected local and international calligraphers. My association with CSV has allowed me to share my interest by teaching Beginner Workshops, giving numerous presentations on the History of Lettering and I have been involved in organising several exhibitions for the Society. These days I find myself less concerned with the legibility of the letters but more with their form, texture, balance and energy. Whilst still appreciating the skill and beauty of the traditional manuscripts, I enjoy exploring these new creative possibilities.
