One-stroke letters with Decoration -Yukimi Annand (Zoom class)




Please note that this workshop will be held over Saturday and Sunday, the 20th and 21st of April through Zoom ( 10am - 1pm). By registering for this event, you will be registering for both dates. ‘Padlet’ will be used for the communication and feedback. We will send you the instruction how to use the program before the workshop. For international students, please note that the fee is AUD and the zoom timeline is AEST, please check your local time.

    • Pencil, ruler, eraser

    • Ruling pen and/or folded pen (Radius cut recommended)

    • Fine line marker, between 0.05 and 0.3mm

    • Sumi ink

    • Watercolor pencil or water color

    • Your choice of several colors of gouache

    • Practice paper - sketch, drawing or bond paper, letter size or larger (A3 recommended)

    • Two to four sheets of good watercolor paper, letter size or larger

    Optional

    • Light pad or light box

    • Fine-Tech gold watercolor

    • One or two sheet of good quality color paper, letter size or larger

    • White gouache and/or Dr Martin’s bleed proof white

  • Yukimi Annand

    YUKIMI ANNAND is a calligrapher, lettering and book artist based in Southern California. She studied visual communication design and worked as a graphic designer over 10 years in Tokyo. She is passionate about the beauty of the Roman alphabet and creates unique artwork with her love of calligraphic mark making incorporated with nature. She has been experimenting with the use of tools and mediums to expand her world of calligraphy. It has also been her great pleasure to share her ideas and to give workshops all around the world since 2012. Yukimi’s work has frequently been shown in Letter Arts Review as well as other calligraphic journals and books. And they have been included in calligraphy collections in Berlin, San Francisco and Moscow.
