- HB pencil & sharpener
-Mechanical (propelling) pencil
- A couple of sizes of black fine-liner pens eg 0.1mm and 0.5mm (or even smaller and larger for contrast)
- Glue stick, masking tape
- Mixing palette, two water jars, paper towel
- Plastic pipettes
- Black Ink eg Sumi, Quink, Art Spectrum, Higgins Eternal etc
- Walnut ink, if you already have it
- Penholder (Deirdre will be providing some pointed nibs - please feel free to bring any favourites you may already have).
- Pointed ‘Aquash’ brush if you already have one.
- Ruler, craft knife, A4 or A3 size cutting mat
- Scissors
- A favourite handwriting tool eg fountain pen, rolling ball pen, ballpoint
- some form of colour eg coloured pencils, watercolour, ink
- Any favourite mark making tools you may already have, eg ‘Coke’ pen, ruling pens, pointed brush
$10 materials fee
(Deirdre will be providing a lined book for handwriting exercises, large sheets of paper for our ‘book’, pointed brush pen, nibs etc)
A note about the materials’ list….
More experienced calligraphers will already have most of the materials listed.
However, if you are fairly new to attending CSV workshops, please bring what you can easily source, such as the pencils, fine liners, favourite writing pen, coloured pencils, ruler, eraser. Deirdre will have spares of most items for your use.
