Printmaking often needs heavy and expensive machine. Did you know a simple pasta machine can do magical things for your printmaking? This workshop repurposes the kitchen pasta machine into a neat little press for printmaking. Using almost no cost material, Tamara will introduce range of mark making techniques to add details and tone and textural images in your prints. Tamara McKimmie will uses everyday items such as cardboard, tetra pack, paper and tapes to lead you to the world of collagraph. Some materials will be provided by Tamara with a small amount of fee.

1 A4 sPrinting paper, ink and some other odd materials will be provided by Tamara with $5. The material fee will be collected in the workshop. If you have some, please bring them.
A pasta machine – If you already have it, please bring. You can also buy used one in an op shop. New one is not that expensive if you want to buy for this workshop. However, we expect there will be a few in the class, we could share the machine. (*Tip- you may want to remove the machine base, so bring a screw drive just in case)
Paper for sketching design
A sheet of tracing paper (A4 or A3)
Steel ruler or cutting ruler 30-40cm
Scissors
Scalpel or cutting knife with extra sharp blades
Drawing materials- pencil, erase, fineliner etc.
Etching needle if you have (a compass point works as well) – don’t buy one. Tamara will bring a few to share. However, available for purchasing here:
Masking tape
Water container
PVA glue and brush for applying PVA
Apron
Disposable gloves (you may need more than a few) Nitrile ones are good however, other disposable one swill do fine.
Paper towel or rag
Idea for designs – sketches, patterns which are simple. (Good to start with)
Table protector (plastic or paper)
If you have empty tetra pack (it is used for liquid packaging such as long life milk or stock or juice), please bring some.
